NICK LYONS
Managing Director / Independent Financial Adviser
Nick is an Independent Financial Adviser with well over a decade of experience in Financial Services. Nick started his career with AA Insurance where his last promotion took him to operational sales manager of around 100 employees.
As Managing Director, Nick is responsible for the ongoing management of the firm as well as leading the Milburn Davies team to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.

When he's not crunching numbers or assisting clients, Nick loves to spend time with his wife Emily and two daughters Elsa and Millie.

ROD MILBURN
Independent Financial Adviser
Rod is one of the founders of Milburn Davies, having set the company up in 2010.
With decades of experience in financial services, Rod worked with Prudential for many years before progressing his career into independent financial advice in 2000. He is qualified to Level 4 with a Diploma in Financial Planning and also holds the CeMap Mortgage qualification.

Rod loves all sports especially golf, and loves to spend his spare time with family - including grandson Max.

JOANNE WHALEN
Independent Mortgage & Protection Specialist
Joanne is level 4 qualified Independent Mortgage, Protection & Equity Release Specialist with a Diploma in Financial Planning. She has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry and has a great deal of expertise in the mortgage area.

STEVE WHALEN
Independent Mortgage Adviser
Steve has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry. He obtained the Financial Planning Certificate, awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1996. Steve spent his early years in retail banking with TSB, before gaining further experience working for Prudential Assurance. He has been specialising in the area of Mortgage & Insurance for the last 10 years and holds C.I.B Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice.
Amy Dawson
Independent Financial Adviser
Amy has over a decade of experience in Financial Services and has the IFS Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers, along with other Financial qualifications.

Working in a number of professional & voluntary capacities over the past 10 years, Amy has a Bachelor's Degree in Law and is an expert in the field of personal finance.
​
With a love of fitness, horse riding and her three dogs, Amy loves to spend time with her family and friends.
Reece Guthrie
Independent Mortgage Adviser
Reece joined the Milburn Davies family in 2023, after working alongside two of the UK's largest mortgage brokerages.
​
With over 6 years of experience advising clients on both protection and property finance, Reece is CeMap qualified and is currently working towards his Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
​
Reece is a big Newcastle United fan, loves all things sport and spends much of his free time entertaining his adorable Cockapoo Bonnie.

Nicola Hillcox
Paraplanner
Nicola is the newest member of the team, having joined the firm in early 2024.

As a level 4 qualified DipFA financial professional, Nicola holds a technical role within the team, providing back office support and specialist advice to our IFAs.
​
Nicola is a keen cook and loves her holidays (especially Bali).
